Art silk essentially refers to artificial silk. While real silk is made by cultivating silk worms that feed on mulberry leaves, artificial silk is made from cellulose fiber and mixture of materials like rayon.
A Banarasi saree is made in Varanasi, an ancient city which is also called Benares. Banarasi saree boasts of an exquisite Zari-work to weave out the floral motifs and foliage. Silk by cotton are produced by using the best quality of silks in the warp and the finest quality of cottons in the weft, leading to durable fabric and give an elegant rich look on drape.
