Lord Narayana resting on Adishesha
Description
Lord Narayana is the Supreme Being, from which everything is caused. There is nothing higher. All living and non-living beings are supported and sustained by Him. Not only is all of creation present within Him, but He is also the indweller of all living beings. All other deities come from Him, and the goal of all life is to serve and worship Him.
In His transcendent form, He resides in the heavenly abode of Vaikuntha. This is where He resides on Adishesha (the celestial snake who forms His bed) and is served by Maha-Lakshmi.
In this murti, Lord Vishnu is in the ananthashayanam posture, the eternal yogic sleep on the serpent, Adishesha. His hand is placed over the Shiva-lingam, Lord Brahma is coming out of His navel
